Why does my eyeshadow "fall off" or crease?

A lot of girls feel like their eyeshadow lasts for like maybe two hours and then it either "falls off" or creases really bad. This is because the eyelid is not primed. Priming your eyes and setting it with a powder is so important if you want your eye shadow to last all day or for a long night out!

Before you apply anything, apply an eyeshadow primer. There is a couple things you can do to prime........

1. Apply a true eyelid primer such as Too Faced Shadow Insurance ($20.00) or Urban Decay eyeshadow Primer Potion ($12.00-20.00). You can get these at either Ulta or Sephora. They are both high end products but will leave your eyeshadow looking as if you just applied it six hours later.

2. Apply MAC pro long-wear concealer ($18.00). This may sound weird because it is a concealer, but this product can be applied to prime the eyelid for eye shadow because the formula eliminates any creasing. This is what I use whenever I am going to be applying eye shadow.

Whichever method/product you prefer, make sure that you set the primer or concealer with a powder. Otherwise when you go to apply the eye shadow, it will not go on smoothly and break up and look blotchy. Setting the primer with powder allows for a smooth base!
