These next few products are going to be for people with dry skin!

The first product I am going to talk about is a moisturizer. It is so important to have hydrating moisturizers if you have dry skin to eliminate the flakey feeling after simply washing your face. Clinique's moisture surge intense skin fortifying hydrator is an amazing product for hydrating the skin instantly. It is oil free and not only hydrates but also gradually repairs the skin. You can get this at Clinique and there are two sizes, $39 and $52.50. A couple moisturizers on the cheaper side that I recommend are First Aid Beauty Ultra Face Moisturizer ($12.00 at Dermstore) and the CeraVe moisturizer ($8.99-16.00 all drugstores).

The next is going to be primers. First of all, if you are going to apply makeup, if you have dry skin and problems with flaking or patchy spots, it is so important to apply a primer. When it comes to buying primers, look for primers that have dimethicone in them. Dimethicone is a smoothing silicone and in primers they help smooth everything on the face a reduce fine lines and and texture on the skin. Also any primer that says it's going to hydrate your face is something you should look for. Priming your skin is going to give you an even, smooth base that you then can apply foundation on; it will go on evenly throughout your entire face. The one thing I will have to say is the best and most effective primers are going to be on the pricey side but they will last you SO long. Some of the primers I recommend are Make Up Forever hydrating primer (light blue tube) and their smoothing primer (grey tube) $38, Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation primer $36, and the Laura Mericer hydrating primer $33. All can be purchased at Sephora.

Next is foundation. Now, when shopping for foundations you can do two things. The first is finding either a luminous, hydrating, or specific type of foundation. A couple of foundations that are great on dry skin is the BECCA Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation. This foundation is targeted for those with dry skin and you can get this at Sephora for $44. Another foundation that might surprise you, is from the drugstore and is L'Oreal's True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous foundation. This is an amazing foundation because it really hydrates the skin and a little goes a long way. You can get this at Ulta or any drugstore and it ranges from $10.00-12.99.

The second thing you can do with your foundation is you can mix in some beauty oil to thin it out a little bit and add some hydration. You only need a drop or so and it will transform any thick foundation into a smooth, silky and more luminous foundation. Apply a pump of foundation on your hand or a tray and simple add a drop of oil. The best beauty oil is the Josie Maran Argon oil. You can get it at Sephora in three different sizes and like I said, a you only need a drop or two. Price from $16.00-96.00).

For setting the face after applying foundation, I recommend the Laura Mercier Translucent setting powder. This is at Sephora and is $38. However, if this drys up your face too much, the MAC mineralize skin finish is a light powder but will keep your foundation locked into place. You can purchase this at MAC for $32.

I really hope this post helped and I know majority of these products are more expensive but I cannot stress how important it is to take care of your skin so sometimes it is necessary!
