Summer is finally here! Minimal makeup is a must when your days are spent laying poolside. Trying to rock the "natural" makeup look can be intimidating for someone who is used to a full face of makeup most of the week. These 5 steps will become your go-to routine and products for a simple yet gorgeous summer look!
1. Apply a BB or CC cream.

A BB cream is going to prime, correct, hydrate and perfect your skin! It is much faster than having to apply a primer, foundation, and concealer. It has SPF so you will not have to worry about covering your face in the sun! A CC cream does the exact same thing as a BB cream except it focuses on color correcting. On the left is a drugstore BB cream (L'Oreal) that is my go to when I am in a hurry or am spending my day at the pool! The product on the right is a CC cream by IT Cosmetics that you can get at Ulta or Sephora. It is my favorite high end CC cream because it has an SPF of 50 and is full coverage but leaves your face feeling like you are not even wearing makeup. This is much more expensive than the L'Oreal one but they both get the job done.
2. Bronzer
Bronzer is my favorite product hands down- especially for summer! Adding bronzer to your cheeks and the outer part of your forehead will give you that sun kissed glow that everyone loves! Even just adding a touch to your face no matter how fair or dark your skin is, will go a long way. Some bronzers that I tend to always grab particularly in the summer time are the NYX deep tan matte bronzer, the Palladio baked bronzer in Illuminating tan, Bare Minerals bronzer called The High Dive, and the Too Faced Sun Bunny bronzer. The NYX and Bare Minerals bronzers are matte and the Palladio and Too Faced bronzers are very shimmery. The NYX and Palladio bronzers are drugstore and range from $8-10 and the Bare Minerals and Too Faced bronzers are $25 and $30.
3. Highlight, highlight, highlight!
Summer is all about having that perfect tan glow am I right? Highlighting will create a beautiful "natural" glow that will have everyone staring! Brush the highlight on the highest points on your face- the top of your cheek bones, under your eyebrows, above the end of your eye brow, your cupid's bow and the center of your nose. My all time favorite highlighters are from Becca Cosmetics in Opal and Champagne Pop.
These both are beautiful on someone who has a tan- which who doesn't in the summer? They are high end and price at $38 from Sephora. They are very intense so a little goes a long way, which in the end, you get your moneys worth with how long one of these will last you. If you do not want to spend the money on a highlighter you can use an illuminating bronzer (such as the Palladio bronzer I mentioned above) and that works just as well!
4. Mascara

This step could be optional but coating your lashes a couple of times with a little water proof mascara can really make your eyes pop. L'Oreal Voluminous water proof mascara is my go to mascara. I have tried a ridiculous amount of mascaras and I always go back to this one.
5. Lip balm and/or lip gloss
Apply a lip balm with an SPF in it that way your lips are protected from the sun. Then you can apply a lip gloss to sass your look up! You could also use a tinted lip balm that way you can have some color on your lips along with protecting them! My favorite is the Benefit tinted lip balms from Sephora or Ulta. There are a variety of colors and they really hydrate your lips. I am a fan of adding some gloss to my lips though. So after applying a tinted lip balm I will go over it with any clear gloss!

Have a fabulous summer beautiful!
